Who else doesn't relax well?
I'm one of those weirdo people who has a hard time sitting still. At the spare moment when I do take a seat, one or more of my body parts {usually my foot or leg} will tap or wiggle as if to keep the engines running. And more-so, my mind is always dreaming up the next best thing. For instance, even though I'm still putting the finishing touches on Eme's room and our bathroom, I've decided now is the perfect time to get started on my long neglected photobooks. I've mentioned my poor son's lack of tactile photojournalism but have yet to do anything about it. Time to right that wrong. Starting tonight {after I clean-up my room}, I start editing.
There are so many great photobook options on the market and, of them, I like blurb. Mostly, because their name is cool. :) Now, given my tendency to drag things out, I recognize the need for a deadline. Next month Max turns 4 {!} and April seems the perfect month to get 'er done. Of course, I only aim to conquer his Year 1 Book, let's not go haywire and think I can get all 4 years done. Silly.
The other photobooks I hope to make are for the kiddies various hobbies and past-times, like, say horseback riding. :)

Friends. We made it.
Winter, you can kiss my a....
This morning I leapt out the backdoor like a ballerina in flight. Luckily I didn't land and twist my ankle, but back to the point, it's spring!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's talk about what this means.
What does spring bring you?

~ no more pink! ~
Has anyone ever walked into Anthropologie and walked-out empty handed? I don't think it's possible. I can't tell you how many times I've wandered in with a simple return and left with 2 five-pound bags hauled over each shoulder.
One recent trip brought home a few accessories for our new and improved {and almost finished} bathroom. Remember we started over a year ago? Yep. It's been a while. We're consistently non-urgent in our DIY projects. For instance, just like the bathroom redo, Miss Pippy's room is also crawling along. I've come to terms with my slow-pokedness when it comes to redesign and am just happy both projects have turned out so well along-the-way.
It's the final finishing touches that make all the difference, right? We all know you can't rush these things! :)
What are you working on these days?

Friends. Next week Spring begins.
~ cue chirping birds, crocus buds and bunny rabbits ~
I think all of us on the East Coast {and beyond} can heartily agree it's been a looong time coming. To mark this change in season and in preparation of all good things to come, this weekend Eme and I will kick-off spring training. She has a kiddie triathlon in May and there's a 5k in June I'd like to run with her in toe!
Next month it will be one year since I destroyed my ankle in a clumsy fall. stupid. Healing has been sloooowww going and I've been too afraid to even think about any type of impact exercise since then. Welp, Sunday I lace-up and hope for the best. No fat ankle is going to keep me from the finish line.
Wish us luck!
~ have a great weekend! ~

"Mommy, I looked him in the eye. That means I was listening!"
~ Emerson, 6. Her proud comment after asking the grocer the whereabouts of hummus.
However much I overpaid for her Etiquette Communication's Class was money. well. spent! :)

How often do you say I love you to your kids?
Do you say it with words? Or with kisses and hugs?
I bombard my kids with affection every single day.
I remember running from my parents as an adolescent when the hugs and kisses came out {I still do. :)}, and I expect some day I'll experience the same from my kids. But for now, I eat 'em up. They're so juicy and cute. It's impossible not to plop them on my lap or pick them up for a free ride or run my fingers through their hair. Of course, some cultures and families express love differently and even my kids are expressive in their own ways. Emerson loves to snuggle, but isn't very vocal with her love bites. I just told her the other day, "you can tell Max you love him!". My Maxi Bear says, "I love you, Mommy" a million times every day. A million!
With all the things I get wrong, at least I know I'm getting I love you right. :)
