- I ate my weight in Hershey Kisses yesterday. At least they're Celiac friendly. :)
- Speaking of, have you tuned into Martha's American Made awards? {Don't you love the concept? Have you been to the workshop?} Well, while reading about the finalists in Living's current issue, I happened upon Cup4Cup. A gluten-free flour company dreamed up by Lena Kwak and Thomas Keller. If it's good enough for the French Laundry and American Made....
- Disaster averted. After no luck at four stores and spending an hour searching the world wide web, it was at 12:20 a.m. on my fourth call to a fourth 24 hr Walmart, that I found it. A Pink Power Ranger costume. Every other online and bricks and mortar store was completely sold out. I had no idea it would be such a challenge! Guess what Billy Webb went to pick up at 6:00 this morning.... In other news, I easily found a yellow/blue Power Ranger costume for Max but when he saw it ~ "I want red". Oh, brother!!!
- I'm on the hunt for a few Thanksgiving recipes. I always wait 'til the last minute to decide on my menu and experience has taught me this isn't a good approach. {yawn} So I've been scouring November mags for dishes and have a little pile of tearsheets started. I love the idea of serving a cheesy pop-over or biscuit in my bread basket and hope my favorite baker loves it too!
- Recently I've upped the ante on my beauty routine. I suppose you can't really call washing/towel drying your hair and a daily SPF daycream a beauty routine, but whatever! Anywho, I started trying a tinted dry shampoo. I'm not sure I've ever mentioned it, but I'm totally grey. hello, early aging. The grey strands started in my teens. Well, in an effort to keep my color longer I'm shampooing less. I know I'm totally late to the dry shampoo party, but laziness gets in the way of my adopting much in the way of a daily routine. Enter, dry shampoo. So far, so good!
- Emerson's kindergarten class is discussing bullying. Emerson's take away from the lesson, "you've got to step up! If you see a classmate sitting alone invite them over to your table and say, want to come sit with us?". Her teacher distributed flyers looking for volunteers to help organize a stop bullying rally/fundraiser next spring. I think she found her first volunteer in me.
