Thanksgiving prep work has begun.
We're four short weeks away, folks. That's not long. I'm a party planning overachiever, you know. Last year, I think I passed-out immediately after the last guest left. In fact, I think I remember our neighbor stopping by while I was asleep on the living room floor and Billy Webb cleaned up the kitchen. awesome. That's what one week of little sleep will do to ya'. :) THIS year, time will not get the best of me. Oh. no. it. won't!
My checklist looks like this.
- order invites {and get a free tree planted!}. done.
- ensure ULTIMATE turkey recipe is handy. done.
- mail invites {with proper stamp!}. to do.
- begin appetizer/side dish/beverage research. started.
- find cool take-home containers. started, nothing yet.
- wish list for baker. started.
- email baker by 11/1. to do.
- order local bird by 11/1 here or here {last year bigger birds were gone!}. to do.
- calculate need & find more vintage water goblets. started.
- confirm vintage dinner plate count/buy more. to do.
And then of course there's all the design and decor and seating arrangements and music selection and everything else to consider.
Don't you love a dinner party?
