I love a well-put-together look. I've always wanted to be one of those ladies with that certain something. An innate ability to be stylish and at ease all the time. Jackie, Audrey, Kate, Tilda, Cate ~ these are a few of my favorites. Somehow, I fall just short of getting it right. For work, I think I get it. But, when casual. Not so much. I'm not sure how it happens, but I lose the ability to get dressed. Billy Webb calls it my soccer mom look. That's taking it a pinch far, but I will agree my look outside of the office is, you might say, ho hum. Usually, you can find me in jeans or capris with an unflattering, non-descript top. A few years ago, I made the declaration that I would be dressing as a "grown-up" {Lesa, you'll remember} and I did, in fact, start to wear "outfits" as opposed to my weekend norm: gym clothes. Not a track suit {which I don't like, never have. sorry Juicy moms}, that's far more dressed up than I ever was.
Lately, at the booty of kid birthday parties I attend I always check out the crowd and I'm not quite one of the soccer moms, but I'm certainly not one of the good lookers either. Yesterday, I filled my Fall calendar with a ton of upcoming outings. In two weeks I have Tea and Art, then New York {September in New York = perfect} and then hosting Miss Pippy's birthday and the holidays and...
So, from time to time over the next few weeks I'll be dreaming up looks for upcoming events. Today's round-up is perfect for either the tea/museum date or the New York minute. Wouldn't you agree a new season {especially Fall!} is the perfect time to turn things up a notch? Here's hoping I get it right!
I'll keep you p0sted.
