As I whittle through all my May photos, I get to relive my west coast getaway. It was so awesome. Day two food was just as fabulous as day one {thanks again, James!}.
We returned to Venice, this time for brunch at The Tasting Kitchen and then later headed to Hollywood for dinner at Cleo. I can't say enough good things about both. Totally different vibes, totally fantastic food. Thankfully, long bike rides and evening walks followed our meals. We ALWAYS splurge for dessert when dining out, so post meal exercise is a must for glutt0ns like us.
Let's start with brunch. After a GORGEOUS oceanside bike ride from Santa Monica to Venice, we arrived at The Tasting Kitchen {thanks to directions from a motorist, though we were headed in the right direction!}. We showed up hungry and in good spirits at this eatery which has cute hostesses and earthy decor. I wandered about after ordering and headed to the vacant 2nd floor dining room which had the most amazing chalk art and chandelier and restaurant views. I returned to our table just in time to toast the day with a Bloddy Mary for Valerie and champagne for myself. I think Lesa opted for water {huh?}. :)
Our evening meal took place at Cleo which is located in the trendy Redbury Hotel at Hollywood and Vine. We arrived fashionably late ~ L.A. traffic ~ and immediately ordered drinks. The amazing Middle Eastern cuisine is served on small plates meant for sharing. Perfect for us. We ordered about six dishes {none of which I managed to photograph ~ nom, nom, nom ~ but trust me, they were gorgeous and delicious!
