As last year faded, I promised myself 2012 would be the year of the adult. Sure, kids still rule our world, but it's high time Billy Webb and I mixed in more grown-up fun. You've heard all about his party and guitar lessons and year of gifts and.... Well, enough about him. Let's talk about me.
Part of my promise included my own year of monthly gifts. Though mine are in keeping with the ultimate goal - fit, fabulous, forty - looking good and feeling good. As it turns out, I couldn't wait for 2012 and in December, I ransacked Anthro's add-an-extra-50%-off-those-sale-goods sale and gifted myself a booty of new clothes.
Enter 2012. In January, I finally tackled one of my biggest pet peeves - my post-pregnancy frizzy hair. Pregnancy destroyed my hair. I used to have pretty, shiny, smooth hair. Now, not so much. I've tried several different products, but nothing de-frizzed enough. Let me also mention that I am one of the laziest, low maintenance people around. I love a good beauty product and want to feel pretty like the next girl, but don't want to spend a lot of time doing it. For example, I rarely blow dry my hair (takes too long) and I only like to use spray-on hair products (mousses, gels, and creams involve too many steps - slather, apply, wash hands). So I turned to the professionals and did what many fed-up-frizzy-girls do - Keratin.
First, I checked in with my local beauty expert (hi, Melissa!) for her take on Keratin and after her rave reviews, was hopeful I might have silky hair once more. Well, don't you know every minute of the 3-hours I sat in the chair and every penny of the ungodly cost was worth it. I love my new, old hair.
I am so on my way to fabulous!
So February is closing fast and I need to hurry up and schedule this month's gift - skincare. That's right, one hearty facial and microdermabrasion is on deck.
What's up for March, you might wonder? New sneaks to cross the tape in that 5k I'm running.

{Tell me, what's part of your beauty routine?}
