"When I grow up I'm going to be a farmer."
Little girl loves visiting a farm and includes Farmer on her list of future professions (with Paleontologist, Doctor and Veterinarian). She can often be heard chattering-on about plans to start building a barn in the back yard and which animals will be on her farm.
We're a family of farm lovers, in fact. I grew up at the barn and in the saddle, and share her love of a bustling barnyard and all the sights and sounds it includes. Cow and pig rank second and third as Max's favorite animals (elephant holds the #1 spot) and his current #1 song includes the chorus "eee, i, eee, i, ooo". And, let's not forget the Mister. Fun fact, Billy Webb has often imagined a rolling midwest Buffalo farm. Bison burger, anyone? So, naturally, one of our favorite local stops for family fun, fresh-made ice cream, lots of mooing and awesome seasonal events is Merrymead Farm. It's a working farm and local gem that little girl would visit every day, if she could. The super-dooper delicious ice cream may have something to do with that.... chocolate marshmellow, to be exact.
Check out some scenes from a recent visit on a perfect autumn day.
