Too many projects? Apparently, three is too many for me.
Project #1 - Dresser dressing up. I've wanted to freshen up the dresser in little boy's room forever. A simple project involoving painting the faces of 4 drawers white (currently stained) and slapping on some new hardware (ring pulls). Which I found and ordered online. Of course no project in this house gets done without the help of my uber handy husband Billy Webb (remove drawer faces, fill original hardware holes, sand, prime, paint, cut new hardware screws, install hardware}. Some nicumpoop (me) only ordered 3 sets of pulls, instead of four. Nice going.
Project Pulse - started 4/23, remaining hardware arrived 5/10. Estimated completion date 5/14.
Project #2 - Display case revival. About a year ago, not long after Baby Bear was born, I purchased a darling little display case on Etsy. The cute case has been hanging in his nursery showcasing some of The Mister's childhood Matchbook cars (I've got suitcases of them). While it is cute, I wanted to make it even cuter with a fresh coat of shiny white paint. So, on went two coats of primer and a first coat of gloss white. And it is cute, though I hadn't considered how much more noticeable the imperfections would be. So, break out the caulk gun. I need to fill a few holes and smooth off a few unfinished edges before applying the final coats and perhaps line the interior (hello sunny chevron).
Project Pulse - started 5/1, caulk holes/sand rough edges, final paint, cut fabric/install. Estimated completion date 5/15.
Project #3 - Upholstered Bed. Remember this? Well, good things take time. Let's talk about all the things that have gotten done.
Pick and purchase fabric. Buy upholstery supplies. Buy Ikea bed to Ikea hack. Buy nailhead trim. Cut fabric, foam, batting. Upholster siderails. Billy Webb makes the frame (yippee!!). Glue foam to headboard and footboard. Let dry.
Not bad. What's left?
Pick and purchase legs, wrap headboard and footboard in batting. Pin, cut and sew fabric. Upholster headboard and footboard. Apply nailhead trim. Install legs. Buy new bedding.
Project Pulse - started 3/21, finish "What's Left" list (see above). Estimated completion date 5/31.
N0 more projects. Except for Project Why Weight. Ugh. Which isn't going well.
ho hum, pass the Twinkies.
